Why ISO Accreditation Still Matters – And What It Means for Our Clients

Several factors contribute to the cost. We explore them here.

At Ardington Archives, we’re pleased to share that we have recently renewed our ISO accreditations through BSI for the following standards:

● ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management

● ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management

● ISO/IEC 27001:2022 – Information Security Management

These certifications reflect our long-standing commitment to providing secure, consistent and responsible archive services to our clients across regulated sectors, including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, legal and finance.

But what do these accreditations actually mean in practical terms—and why do they matter?

1. Independent Assurance of Standards

Each ISO standard is internationally recognised and independently assessed. Our recertification through BSI shows that our systems and processes meet established best practices, not only in how we manage quality and data security, but also in how we reduce our environmental impact. In many industries, particularly those governed by regulatory frameworks such as GxP, this assurance is more than a nice-to-have—it’s a necessity.

2. Confidence in Compliance and Risk Management

Working with an ISO-accredited provider helps our clients meet their own audit, compliance and governance obligations. Whether it’s maintaining secure storage of clinical trial records, meeting GDPR obligations, or providing documented environmental practices, accreditation adds clarity and confidence to the client relationship.

ISO 27001, in particular, is vital in today’s information-driven world. It sets the standard for data protection and risk-based thinking, and confirms that we have suitable policies, controls and procedures in place to manage sensitive information securely.

3. Commitment to Continuous Improvement

ISO certification is not a one-time achievement—it requires continuous monitoring, periodic audits, and a willingness to improve. This culture of continual improvement means that we regularly evaluate our operations, incorporate client feedback, and adapt to new challenges with resilience and transparency.

For our clients, especially those in highly regulated industries, these accreditations provide a layer of trust and reliability. It means that when you choose Ardington Archives, you’re choosing a partner that is not only experienced and professional, but independently verified to operate at a high standard day in, day out.
